Maalaea Harbor- 6 miles – Many boats leave from Maalaea on snorkeling trips, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, whale watches (in season), sunset cruises, and more. It is much faster to leave from Maalaea Harbor than Lahaina Harbor when taking trips to Molokini Crater and Turtle Town.

Maui Ocean Center – Located in Maalaea, approximately 6 miles from Kihei Bay Vista. This top rated family attraction is a state-of-the-art aquarium encompassing three-acres allowing visitors an extraordinary look at the vast undersea world surrounding the islands.

Haleakala Volcano – 34 miles, about 1 ½ hours – Haleakala in Hawaiian means “House of the Sun.” This active but non-erupting volcano stands in the middle of the Haleakala National Park which offers hiking, sightseeing, horseback riding, downhill biking and unforgettable sunsets and sunrises.

The dramatic landscape with deep ravines was the site of one of the most famous battles in Hawaiian history when King Kamehameha conquered the Maui army to unite all the Hawaiian Islands. Get there early for the best view of Iao Needle, clouds often cover over by mid-afternoon.

Wailea Golf Club – The award-winning Wailea Golf Club, is located 8 miles from Kihei Bay Vista and is one of the largest and most acclaimed golf facilities in Hawaii. This Maui golf club features three championship courses, two full-service pro shops and the finest outdoor training facility in the Pacific.

The plantation produces sugar cane, pineapple, coffee, bananas, mangoes, papayas, avocado, star fruit and macadamia nuts. The nursery is a feast for the eyes, featuring hibiscus, orchid, ginger and more. There is also a restaurant and a great souvenir and product shop.
